Création par Claude Guyand.
Démarrage de l'Activité de Stockage d'Acide Sulfurique Concentré Port St.Louis du Rhone (PSL).

1993
Mise en route d'une Installation de Dilution d'Acide Sulfurique (fortes dilutions) a Lavera.

1999

Arrivée de HELM dans le capital de D3 Chimie S.A.S. à hauteur de 50%. Voir le site www.helmfrance.fr
2001
HELM prend 100% des parts de D3 Chimie S.A.S. et porte le Capital à 918 000€.
Arrivée Michel Joseph François, General Manager D3 Chimie S.A.S.

2005
Arrêt des installations de stockage et de conditionnement sur Gardanne.
Transfert des bureaux sur Aix-en-Provence.
   
2006
Storage d' Acide Sulfurique de St. Herblain et Bayonne.

1900            Karl Otto Helm, a merchant, sets up the company in Hamburg to import and export a wide range of products, including furniture, textile goods, porcelain, fragrances and spices.
 
1950 Hermann Schnabel takes over the company. Success comes quickly due to specialization in chemical trading, business acumen and the creation of a streamlined, modern organization.
 
1960 In the early sixties work starts on expansion abroad, with branch offices in Copenhagen, Madrid and
Mexico, D.F.
 
1970 Turnover reaches 180 million euro, with branch offices in 10 countries, Karl O. Helm company employs 300 people.
 
1978 Karl O. Helm is turned into a family-owned stock corporation called HELM AG.
 
1980 The number of employees doubled to 600, the company has a presence in 20 countries, and with 557 million euro the turnover tripled.
 
1984

Dieter Schnabel becomes chairman of the executive board.

His focus is on:

  • Pushing ahead with the transformation of HELM AG from a trading house into a multifunctional chemical group operating internationally
  • Developing new functions and structures
  • Strengthening the company's international presence

Commencement of methanol production via participation in Trinidad & Tobago.
 

2007 Entry into the biotechnology segment via Richter-Helm BioLogics GmbH & Co. KG.
 
2008 With EURO 9,121 million in turnover, the business year 2008 turned out to be the most successful year in the more than hundred-year history of HELM AG.

2010

A participation in Amarin Technologies S.A., Buenos Aires gives HELM's pharmaceutical division direct access to various generic transdermal products
